QE covers 12 different debt types, including a category called “Other Debts”.

Click “Debts” in the left column.

Click on “+Add another debt”

Click “Select a Debt” to view the complete list and choose your first debt, e.g. Mortgage.

Start by listing what the deceased owed and who the creditors are; fill in the other fields as you go.

A key data point for each debt is the outstanding balance at the data of death. Date of death values must be reported on the inventory for probate and may be required by the estate accountant.

Date of death values will not change but the current balance of each debt will move down as you make partial or full payments. Keep on top of the payments and keep current balance fields up to date.

The “Get Informed” tab, left of the data fields provides useful tips relevant to each debt.

Data saves automatically.

To close a debt and return to your debt list, click on the name of the debt (that you’re working on)

You can add as many mortgages as you like. To add the next one, click “+Add another debt”

Click “Select a Debt” and choose “Mortgage” again or select a different debt.

Each one appears on the list of debts and in the Summary of Assets & Debts.

To delete a debt, click the small white check box, left of the debt name, click the red “Delete” button at the top, and click OK to confirm.

To print the details of a particular debt, click the Print button to the right of the asset description. Pop a hard copy into your Estate file.
